It matters to me because I could spell it since I was 5 years old. I am sorry but I do find it offensive. I have a friend named Joel, he has work shirts that say "Joel" on it, all of the time customers call him "Joe" or "Joey" and even his boss referred to him as "Joseph" until he pointed to his shirt one day and said its "Joel". I find it common courtesy.
I know a JD guy that went off to me one day how every once I a while they will spell it "Deer" and not "Deere". If he can complain about that I can complain about this.
