The military should've kept this vehicle and installed the 318 V8 engine. The Gama Goat was a piece of junk and Lady Bird Johnson held the most stock. The M37 out performed it all mobility tests. The testing on the Gama Goat was longer than when we tested M1A1 Abrams. We tested two pilot models, one made by GM and Chrysler. I was told last week the M1A1 is going to be up weighted to 80 tons.
