The USDA had them built in 1927 to help get rid of the corn borer's after the corn was harvested. The tractors had PTO's and could be used to run a stubble beater. They had a rental program, for a $1.00 per acre farmers could rent them to plow and beat the corn stubble to get rid of the borers. They were available for use in NY,PA,OH & MI. The tractors had numbers assigned to them to keep tract of them.
