I have been planting them in the garden for the past two years. Last year I just broadcast them on top of the ground, most of the tubers grew about half way out of the ground. This year I used a harrow to cover them, maybe more of them will grow under the ground. They helped loosen up the soil, we have a lot of red clay around here and the ground gets pretty hard when it dries up. I planted them the first of September this year.
