I think that poster was pulling your leg in that the old style manual pump type grease guns are also cordless.
Personally, while I hate the long handled manual pumpers as they usually take both hands to operate them. I truly love the pistol grip manual pumpers that are easy as pie to operate with one hand leaving the other hand free to put the fitting on the zerk.
