It don't matter what they look like, its all good. An apple tree I planted with my father in '79 which has not produced much over the years had quite a few apples this year, couple of bushels, and some are huge, they are just now about ripe, going to have to make something with them and see about keeping that tree in production, pruning and required spray before they bud again in the spring, I actually need to read up on the care of an apple tree, its mate, and cross pollinator died some years back, not sure what helped it this year.
From the end of august to october, there are more darned apples on the side of this hill, old pasture, incredible, and some are sweet, palatable, others less sweet, all kinds of denominations of them.
Great to see you and so many others enjoy them, and making things with them, had I the time I;d fool with them more, but I will get every last one off this tree on my lawn, deer cleaned up all the ones that have fallen or are no good, in one night.
