Well, here are some time laps pics from my house roof tonight. We haven't had a widespread killing frost yet, and I can't say we have had a good crop of beans and corn. Most farmers around here still use traditional tillage practices, (moldboard plowing and several trips of secondary tillage, rock picking, before planting). We had a BTO buy up about 1200A in town and ripped out fences and planted every acer he could, all No Till. I don't know how much he spent on pre emergent spray, and post emergent insect, weed control, plus post emergent fertilizer. He was very dilligent, and spent countless hrs. in his spray rig. He has great looking corn and beans. Lack of killing frost here, has been a real help to him. I posted pics. a week ago about the grain legs (2) that he put up to fill 70' Harvestore grain silos and a new 50K grain tub. The power company,(NYSEG) has been on site stringing a new feed to him, for the last 3 days. Time will tell!!. Me, i'm retired and will just set back and watch how everything evolves. The uncles have looked into selling, but when they were told that they would have to pay out about 58% to the Gobberment, they said no, but I don't know what other choices they have. You work all yuour life farming and then you have to pay the gouberment to do it????? something stinks here Loren, the Acg.
sorry for the repeat pics., had more to post but compuker craps out about this time every night. Overload on my TW Road Runner feed. I suspect. I an the last user on a spur line.
