Check Craig's list for a pickup bed mat. They have fibers in them and make them strong much like a mud flap. I'll bet you could get a used one for a few bucks. I've also purchased ribbed rubber flooring that is intended to be used to cover a garage floor. The full floor mat in my grain truck is made out of that stuff. It wears like iron.

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen.
