You REALLY need a pressure canner to can green beans!!! Otherwise, the canned product might not be safe, or even possibly might be deadly.
We are done for the year, since we got a killing frost a couple of weeks ago. I think we canned about 75 or 80 pints, which will be enough to take us to next season. We can beans every year. With just the two of us home, these days, we can in pint jars. We usually use our large pressure canners that allow processing of 18 pints per load.
We have tried freezing green beans, but prefer the taste of the canned ones. They are my favorite vegetable and we eat them several times a week.
Good luck in finding a suitable pressure canner. We have found ours at thrift shops and garage sales. With new gauges, seals and pop-outs, they work as good as new for a fraction of the new price.
