Back in the day I believed the stories about how hard they are to kill. Didn't want them charging me after all.
Killed a lot with a 300 Win mag, way overkill, then my .270 Win & 7mm08. Got bored with that, all hit the ground hard. I then started bow hunting. Still never got charged. Had a lot run off and got tired of tracking.
I now shoot them all with a.223 shooting a 55 grain Hornady V Max bullet. Drops them with 1 shot. I've killed some big boars with a thick shoulder plate and the .223 will penetrate that.
