I make my own mix for the calves and cattle, using ground oats, whole corn - cob and all, ground hay and supplement bought from the feed mill for vitamins and minerals. The supplement is cheap. The hay and cobs add bulk and fiber. They love it, but dont let them eat too much if they are young ones. Do you have access to any corn? Pretty expensive if you have to buy it for feed. I always thought it is funny that oats grind so hard, really makes the tractor on the mill snort !
