I went used 3/4 ton pickup truck shopping late last year to replace a half ton. Let"s just say half ton trucks and 24 foot trailer do not go in the same sentence. When starting to look Ram was at the bottom of my list, but I ended up with a used 2012 Ram, 3/4 ton, 5.7 hemi, quad cab, 4 x 4. It is pretty much the plain Jane model but I couldn"t be happier. Power when you need it (24 foot trailer with two Farmall 340 tractors is no problem.) yet economical when using it for a errand truck. Keep your foot out of it with mostly distance driving and it is capable of 17 mpg. The budget does not allow but wish I had power mirrors and power sliding rear window. Don"t even know if Dodge/Ram has those options. I would buy another one. Oh, by the way, 5K less miles than a 2011 F-250 XLT gasser I considered for $5K less dollars. Win - win situation for me.
