My having grown up on JD tractors/equipment also having a brother that was a JD dealer and working for that same brother at the JD dealership one could state I'm biased which is true. BUT IMHO if JD doesn't stop relying on their past name recognition and FIX some of their ongoing reliability problems what you stated will disappear(POOF). Read some of the current problems with newer JD tractors that keep coming up on the WWW.

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
