The bond to earth immediately after the utility transformer is to hold the white insulated current carrying conductor to earth potential. The bare ground is to hold metal chassis etc to earth potential. The insulated white conductor carries just as much power and does just as much work as the difference between L1 and L2. Why do you jackleg wirers try to tell the pros about electricity?
