I've had one since 2007. get one if they offer it. I didn't think I needed it but thru the years; they have used to pacemaker side to help me out and it surely does. battery went dead this summer and I sure knew it. defib has about 1 episode every 3 months! never has buzzed me but that shows you how close I am.
