About twenty years ago, a guy I worked with wanted me to take about twenty off his daughter's hands. Contemplating it, I visited a couple of booths at the Pa. Farm Show, and talked to some of the 'growers' there. After talking with them, and doing some more research, I ran from that idea as fast as I could. Looking back, it was a good decision, even with the 'free' start. It cost Butch's daughter several thousand to get a butcher to process them, and I think they still have some of the product- oil, cremes, and feathers- left.
Most of the people I talked with seemed to be bonified boneheads and short of a couple of cookies in their happy meals. I think some of them are still raising Rex Rabbits on their ranches......
