30 years ago one popular thing for the students in my ag mechanics class to do was mount belly mowers on tractors. The most popular tractors to install a mower on at that time were the A_C model C and some version of a Farmall model A. There was a pulley in the kit that mounted on the PTO shaft that transferred the power to the mower. Maybe you should give us more information as to what model tractor you have and what brand and how large of a mower you have.
