When I worked in my friend's auto shop I learned that most GM products could be fixed by removing a battery terminal for sixty seconds,then hooking it back up,the computer would then re programme itself and all those features that weren't working would start working again,check engine lights would be gone, etc. We did not hose people for that, we would tell them what we did,they were usually repeat customers who had all their service work done at our shop.
