What causes coolant leaks this time of year? Today was HOT - we got into the upper 20s. When I went to the shed the loader tractor was leaking coolant. It didn't leak any yesterday or all summer, but the top hose is seeping today. I have other tractors that do the same. One other tractor leaks from the block drain on days like this. The petcock is shut and doesn't leak all summer even if the tractor gets super hot.
It isn't because it was warm. The next 20 degree day they won't do it. There was a total of about 4 days last winter when this tractor did the same thing.
Is it the barometer that causes a pressure difference? I used to drive a bus that seeped from every hose on certain days. There were only a few days like that a year but I could tell from the feel of the air what I was going to see when I lifted the hood to pretrip.
