I will start with one piece of advice, never, ever get involved with the government, no matter the terms, no matter the supposed deal, if you become entangled with the federal government in any capacity you lose your freedom, period. Both of my sons have bought land and cattle on their own before age 30 same as I did and same as my Dad did, my Granddad never owned his own place until he was 56 but he stuck with it and made it happen. I was born and raised in a poor place where land was and is affordable but if that had not been the case I would not have hesitated a second to go somewhere else. Opportunity rarely knocks, most of the time you have to smoke it out of the bushes.
