My real job is mowing, etc. so they get brought back, but many get mowed and chopped and left to lay. I have two vac trucks that collect them and chop the leaves up some. I mix them with grass, perennial flowers and more and after 3-4 more mixings and 1.5 years I get some really nice compost. That's just a little of the pile, probably 500 cu yards. My field is on the east side of it so whatever may blow is no big deal. Woods is on west side. Funny how warm it is near the pile when 15 degrees out!
