Mine get Blue Seal Coarse 16 "sweet feed" twice a day. It does help with conditioning especially immediately before and after lambing, but mostly it's a training device for me.
They're used to seeing me coming to feed them first thing in the morning and just before dark, and will come running. When I need to catch them for hoof trimming or worming or whatever, I just feed them in the catch pen and close the gate on my way out. No fuss, no muss.
