Back when 3/4 T. trucks were the main truck on a lot of farms it was a common thing to haul 100+ bu. of grain on them. Hauled a few loads myself. It does seem like an older 3/4 was built a lot stronger in those days though. Most recent was about 7000# of asphalt shingles on a Ford f-250. Guy at lumber yard didn't want to load them, but I convinced him to. Handled them fine, but wouldn't want to go far loaded that way.

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen.
