I splinted a similar sized calf's leg with a piece of PVC pipe a few years ago. Set the bone, bandage it, cut appropriately sized PVC pipe in half to make a 2 piece splint, wrap with hoof wrap and keep tabs on it. Bandage should be changed accordingly. The calf was fine after about month and a half. When it healed it was just slightly larger than the other legs, probably because of scar tissue, but all in all no major problems.
