I'll tell you,I've had dammed poor work done too after a price was agreed on and it was all I could do to keep from kicking some azz,but what are you going to do?
Had a neighbor who lost his job and came here saying he'd do most anything to make some money. I had him paint the roof of the house and barn. He did a good job,I paid him what we'd agreed on. He had restored a couple of cars and did a nice job and I had a 3010 Deere that I wanted cleaned up and painted,so I asked him how much he'd soak me to do that if I bought the paint. He walked around and around it for what seemed like half an hour muttering wult,ahhh,wult,ahhhh......FINALLY he said he'd do it for $200. He came one morning wanting it and the forcast was for a big rain storm later that day and I told him that. He said he knew,he just wanted to start cleaning it up so I let him take it home. I went by there mid afternoon to chop a load of feed and the storm clouds were on the horizon. He was out there painting it. When I was done chopping and headed home, there were a few big drops of rain hitting me and and he was still out there painting. I thought he'd put it in his barn but no! Next morning is was still sitting there, paint all runny and blistered and he wasn't around. He didn't come home until Monday and he went out and put another coat over that mess. I was ready to throttle him! I asked him if he was going to clean it up and re paint it. He about came right off the ground and started yelling that he'd done all he was doing to that dammed thing and he wanted his money. When my blood pressure came down enough to even be able to talk I asked him why he hadn't even sanded anything before he started painting? He asked me what I expected for $200? He was the one who told ME $200 in the first place for Gods sakes. What the H3ll do you do in a situation like that but learn from it and never do any business with the guy again.

Today's Featured Article - An Old-Time Tractor Demonstration - by Kim Pratt. Sam was born in rural Kansas in 1926. His dad was a hard-working farmer and the children worked hard everyday to help ends meet. In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer.
