Its called interline shipment when one shipper uses another shipper to deliver their stuff. Lots of reasons to do this. The most likely since it is 4 days before Christmas is the shipper is overwhelmed with Christmas stuff. I have even seen where shipper X will pick the package up; shipper Y will haul it across the country; and shipper X will deliver it. And you never knew Y was involved.
