I hope I never have to go through that, and fortunatly over here in Wisconsin, we've got some of the most reliable power in the US. They just upgraded all of the lines on my road (new poles, etc...) and around the rest of the neigborhood this summer. They've been out here the last 2 years upgrading things.
During the summer last year we went without power for about 2-3 days and that was bad enough. Wife & son stayed at her parents house, I stayed here to keep and eye on things.
I want to get a generator just in case, but in my short life I've never really seen a need.
