I've had one around a 3 acre yard for 15+ years. Train the dog early, I have the stubborn dog collar for radio fence brand. 3 dogs so far. collar gives a shock like electric fence after vibrating first, if dog is taking shock you need a new collar or you need to set the setting higher. last dog was black lab, yellow lab mix 120 lb dog, saw him take down/ kill 2 deer in the yard in the 8 years I had him (along with 50+ racoon/ possum/ woodchucks (and 2 cats)) he knew where the line was and would go full bore till 10' from the line where it would start vibrating and stop. last 3 years of his life the dog line was disconnected but he knew where the line was...
