huh. You got me. If I remember correctly, the 5.3 is internally balanced. When I remove the balancer, there is no key way and we throw them back on any old way. Maybe the rubber sliped on the dampener but is shouldn't throw balance off of dampener as they are balanced on the inner part of the dampener. Usually a 2000rpm engine balance issue reveals itself on the garage floor.
Same with trans issues. I do see a lot of oil pump stator bushing issues with the 4L60E in 2005 model year. (I play with transmissions at the GM dealer) Never has a vibration issue but could? The bushing in the oil pump cover (body) fails on the input housing (contains overrun, forward, and 3-4 clutches)turbine shaft and caused the Teflon sealing rings to fail. Then converter fills with metal and clutches fail due loss of line pressure directed to that clutch. But if trans a ok, you got me. post when you find out. I d like to know.
