I have not heard the term useful idiot before, but I'd rather be useful than useless, I suppose. My understanding of global warming is that it is slightly analogous to type 2 diabetes in that it is caused or contributed to by too much of something (heat or blood sugar) which throws the system off, but the day to day manifestations can be too hot or cold, or too high or too low blood sugar.
