My oldest boy works in Watertown. He's spent 2 days there so far because he can't/won't drive his moms Jeep on the roads. Why? He says people are insane and there are crashes all over and he's not risking his mother wrath by getting in an accident just to get home!
When I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point NC in the late 70's/early 80's we had a "Major Snowstorm!!!". No kidding, the whole area was paralyzed and in a blind panic over 2" of wet snow! You could tell the northern boys, they were the ones driving along at 45 mph with out a problem while all the Dukes of Hazzard wannabes were sliding off the road. It was hilarious. Everything was closed, there were people in a panic, the news made it sound like the end of the world. Funniest thing was seeing a 6X dump going down the road on base, chains on all wheels, and 2 guys in the back shoveling BLACK DIRT TOPSOIL onto the road in an attempt to sand the roads! NC's coast is nothing but sand and some genius, probably an officer, determined topsoil was the same thing......
