In North Carolina, part of the money received from personalized plates goes to help beautify the roadsides and medians.(flowers and such) which I have no problem with. What I DO have a problem with is the fact that since introducing vanity plates, the price has more than doubled. Actually, I think it has tripled or more. Too rich for my blood! Oh, yes, PART of the money goes for roadside beautification, the rest probably goes into someone's pocket.
