As much as the furnace is running in this cold wind,I've thought about turning the thermostat down,but what would be the point? Right now the furnace is maintaining the temperature at a certain level. If I turn it down,once every surface in the house drops to that temperature,it will run just as much maintaining that temperature unless I turn it down to the outside temperature.
