First one I tried out was an 1982 L8000 with 3208. What an awful setup. They do make a lot of noise and not much else. I was already wise to them before I drove it as we had a few in floater trucks. The one in the Terra Gator 1664 put a softball sized hole in the block when we were busiest. Not Cat's shining star by any means.
I wouldn't say I got a STELLAR deal. These trucks can be easily had for 4-9K around here because they were plow trucks. What you can't see in the pics is the doors are about ready to fall off from rust, anything tin in the engine compartment is about rusted through, the radiator has NO fins left in it.... The seller is gonna put some very good doors on it, and change out the radiator. The rest is gonna have to changed out and fixed up as-needed. I'll have to put a better box on it one day. The floor is nearly competely gone.
