A lot of tractors and equipment on craigslist are being sold by heirs or posted by adult children for their elderly parents. In many cases they have no idea what the equipment will actually bring but they may have researched past sales or ads on the internet and think that asking price always equals selling price. I would not think twice about offering half or less than the asking price, never know if reality has begun to sink in or not when you talk to people, worse they can do is say no.
