I'm not a sports guy. I used to watch the Olympics though. The reason I used to watch was because most other nations like Russia (USSR), China, etc, had full blown professional competitors while the US had amateurs, like it was supposed to be. Many other nations had people using all sorts of drugs, some of us may remember women from the USSR in the shot put and discus throws that looked a lot like The Rock from pro wrestling body-wise. We took the high road. Then someone decided to field pros, I think it was the basketball "Dream Team" first. That was it for me. Why bother watching pros compete? Now the nations that do actually field amateurs are the on;y interesting ones, and they ain't us.
