Heard a story that happened many years ago involving my uncle and a neighbor.
The neighbor was a bad drunk, and my uncle had to drive through the guys place to get to town. One day my uncle stopped and mentioned that the neighbor had a sick calf out with the cows and calves. Uncle was told "He won't live. Take him if you want". My Uncle took the calf home and doctored it back to health.
A few months later my uncle stopped on his way home from town and gave the neighbor a bottle of whiskey. Neighbor had forgot the calf deal and asked what the gift was for. When my uncle explained it was in payment for the calf, the neighbor thought about it a minute, then said "Well hell, there's a whole bunch more of the little buggers out there if ya want 'em".
