Yep, remember when Jay Lenno would do "Jaywalking", ask people simple questions on the street, see what ridiculous answers they would give...
He went on a college campus with a flashlight battery, a flashlight lamp, and a piece of wire.
"Can you make this lamp light?" was asked as he handed them the items.
I don't know how many could actually do it, they may have been edited out, but the ones that couldn't were amazing.
The stories ranged from "The electron flow can't be established within the experiment because blah, blah, blah..." to "It will shock me!" to just stand there looking stupid.
