I'll just say that when I was in school we had two different curriculum that we could follow. Academic for those who were headed to college and vocational for those who weren't. That's all gone now. I heard the CEO of Snap On Tools recently complaining about this very subject. He said they can't find workers who are trained to do the jobs they need done in manufacturing. He said he made a speech to a bunch of parents where he asked what they'd do if their so said he wanted to be an auto mechanic. He said he was met with blank stares and deafening silence.
