I recieved a notice for a Windows update just today, so I did and it forced a restart, and I did. When it restarted,I got a screen pop that said that support for XP expires April 8. I have one that I carry to job sites with me because I have applications that won't run on Windows 7 let alone 8. Well, I have a couple of extra hard drives, so I figure tonight that I will clone a couple of them. If one blows up, I'll replace it from a clone. As far as 8 is concerned, I don't like how they changed 7. I figure that if and when I have to go beyond XP, if I'm going to have to relearn a computer OS, like the difference between XP and 7, I'm going to skip Microsoft completely and go MAC. Heck, I might even go Ubuntu. I've got a drive loaded with it as well.
Hey, just because Allis won't support my old Allis doesn't mean that I scrapped it. I just look for other avenues for support if and when I need it. Microsoft is no different or better as far as I'm concerned.
