Best stuff I've seen for any kind of ants, and yes, it does work on fire ants, is called Advion. It's available to lawn care guys, exterminators, etc, so you'll need someone to get it for you. Beyond that I've used it several times, after having a buddy get me some, in several different places, and it KILLS THEM DEAD.... Sprinkle some of it where you can watch and you'll see the little critters literally fight over the pieces. Both my buddy, and a lady at an exterminating company both made the same statement to me...the stuff is "like crack cocaine" to ants.....and believe me, it is......
