Like was said about the 3208 cat run hard and fast. The older ones ran the pistons in the block and the later ones had sleeves If I remember right. The 3208 was considered a throw away engine for that reason. The old 555 was about as bad from what I heard also. They were in the Allis Chalmers 440 built by Stieger for AC. The cougars with the 3306 would be a lot better engine for you. For about the same money. The uni balls in the hinge would be the big concern to me.
