A can opener can be a valuable tool! I notice that more and more canned goods are coming with pull top lids also. Dump it into a microwave container and you're good to go. With s little practice you won't have to live off sandwiches. Seriously, though, I am sorry to hear about your FIL. Even though it is expected, sometimes it can be hard to cope with. My thoughts are with you and yours.
