The white cab models are newer. They are 1000 PTO only. Usually a good tillage tractor. The power shift is aggressive when at full throttle. The ride is not the best. They are a shorter wheel base tractor and they buck on rough ground.
Engine was a bullet proof. Just make sure the power shift is working correctly. Good heavy draw bar and hitch.
Also there is on position that you should not use the PTO for stationary work. I think you have to make sure the PS lever is not in reverse???? I don't remember exactly what it was but I do remember that you can damage something doing that. The case fellows can tell you what it is.
They usually can be bought for about half of what a JD or IH of the same size brings. I see good clean ones that are in the low to mid teens in price and I do mean CLEAN. Rough ones can be as low as $5000-7500.
Working on some things on them can be a bear. The hood goes under the front of the cab. So getting to the brake valve is a PIA. It always seemed to me they where designed for open station work and then the cab added. So they are not the easiest to work in the dash/firewall area.
