Want to do a test? Get a frying pan on the stove. Turn it up to 400-450. put some conventional oil in the pan. Try several brands and see what happens. Then try some synthetic oil, like red line, mobil 1 or amsoil. You'll see the difference. Good synthetics will have a flash point around 450 f. and fire point at just under 500 f. Synthetic oil will cling longer than conventional also.
