The jewelry and other high value items have to be 'scheduled' in order for there to be coverage at full value. The one you may have a beef with is your insurance agent who should have explained these limits to you and made sure you had the opportunity to get the coverage you needed. You could make a claim against his/her error and ommissions policy if they failed to do that.
