Alright, so I haven't been able to find a "rock hitch" for the front of my case BL plow, so a buddy of mine in the tractor club loaned me the entire Triangle Set Up that has the tripper on it. Sooo, I was hoping to just switch set ups and be able to plow, BUT I have found a problem and I want to know if I can get around it...
On MY plow (bottom one in the picture) there is a large spring that keeps the Adjustable Triangle Set Up in kind of a raised position ( rather than free floating) and that is what keeps the plows from scraping on the ground when you are "traveling". On his plow that this came off of, it has a third tail wheel that is always on the ground, so the hitch is just free floating.
Soooo, will my plow work if I don't have the spring thing on it? I THINK I can put his hitch on my plow, but it will have to be free floating...
After a few quick experments, I found that if you pull both of the handles all the way down, then the share have about an inch of clearnce, but that is when it isn't hooked to a tractor, so if worst comes to worst, I can just pick the plow out of the ground with the clutch, and then quickly push both handles down ( I CAN do this from the seat of the tractor) and then off I go to turn around and do it again...
What do you think? Sound feasible I attached a picture of my plow, kind of! it is the bottom one, and I circled the Spring that I will be taking off... Bryce
