I am still trying to figure out my Oliver 70. I checked my compression tonight. It ranged from 100 at the lowest to 125 at the highest. Most cylinders were in the 110 to 115 range. I would think that would acceptable to run ok. I did take my carb off the other night and was looking at my float. It sounded like it might have gas or something else in it when I shook it. I have a new one on the way. I also took off my new replacement intake/exhaust manifold to see how the flanges lined up. I and others have wondered if had a possible vacuum leak. It appeared to look ok. I did not have a true straight edge. I have seen people check them with a feeler gauge before. I also tried carb spray and propane around the intake area. I did not see any change. The carb will pull my hand towards it if I cover the air inlet and it will also act like it wants to start. It still will only run at full throttle and choke fully closed. I have had a lot of people give me good ideas to try so if anybody else has any I would appreciate them.
