We have a 4630 powershift. We were planting yesterday, and about half of the times I tried to go from park to first gear, it would not engage. I tried using the clutch, and also not using the clutch. If it did not engage, I could feel the tractor jolt like it was trying to go. If I shifted to second when it was "slipping" it would give another jolt, but nothing. It did the same for shifts into 3rd and 4th while "slipping" I also tried using the clutch to start in 3rd and 4th, and got the same jolt with a slipping feel. What is strange is that if I used the clutch to start in 5th, it engaged every time, and then I could downshift to all lower gears perfectly. All gears shift and lock up great after it gets going. I never tried shifting from a slipping 4th to 5th. Like I said, this only happens about half of the time, and when it does engage, it shifts like a champ! Anybody have any thoughts or ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
