Gordo, I AM a MEMBER of that fire company, and have been for 50 years. The farm is FOUR miles from the main station. There were SIX fire companies alerted on first alarm for water supply. The first unit to arrive was one of our fire police who lived about two miles from the farm, and called in a condition report that told us to get a move on- it was a working fire. Our first unit in blew 1000 gallons of water on the machines in just a couple of minutes, and was backed up by a second and third unit each carrying 1000 gallons of water. The kids got a good stop- due to training and excellent equipment. Please, don't talk like somebody was lucky and the fire was put out by a bunch of idiots waiting for it to happen. These guys are volunteers and are very proud of doing a fantastic job for our community; to say anything less is an insult and degradation to a lot of phenominal folks countrywide who do this every day for their neighbors.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
